Any specific error when it won't connect?

What version of Firefox are you using, I am using the 2.0 release candidate 1, love it!

If still using standard version, at 1.5.0.7 atm, have you tried addons like FasterFox, for tweaking it's speed?

This one: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/1269/

Add that and restart Firefox and see it issue continues....

I'd try upgrading JAVA next from here: http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/index.jsp
Select the JRE 5.0 update 8

Clear temp files...

That should be a good starting point.

I've run into Firefox non-responsiveness a few times on 2+2 but other sites still worked fine. I just assumed it was a forum reboot or maintenance thing cause it always came back within a few minutes.

ty Trainwreck I'll try those.

BiPolar when FF doesnt connect to 2p2 it does work on all the other sites (at the same time). My non-resposivnesses take 30 mins. IE works fine with 2p2 during them.

I'm using 1.5.0.7

I've run into this a few times and am not sure what causes it, but clearing cookies has always fixed it. Just have to log in again.

I'm using 1.5.07 as well but FF has historically had cookie problems. Since 2+2 (I assume) uses cookies for determining what posts are still unread, this could simply be a FF problem. I *never* use IE and would reboot/clear everything in firefox/face west and whistle dixie before using IE to see if it works.

Yes, when I have 2p2 probs firefox still checks my gmail fine and still navigated elsewhere fine. Typically these "problems" seem to happen around noon Eastern time, but not every single day. (only had problems around noon...never tried another browser since FF was still checking mail and bringing up google searches)

I guess I could try paying closer attention and try download another browser to try if it happens again (like opera or something non-IE that doesn't use FF/Nutscrape/Mozilla code base). Honestly it never bothered me enough to investigate farther and I just blew it off as a 2p2 forum server reboot. I could be wrong...guess I'll pay more attention next time (but still won't use IE lol....too many 0-days out there for that pos pseudobrowser)
