AK in 3b pot turn play 200bb deep, tough spot
This was originally from the micros, but I think it's a really difficult spot that needs a lot of replies from more experienced posters. Villain is TAG playing probably like 21/17/4 or something.
The main thing here is, hero has been called once, if hero bets, villain will not continue w/o a hand that beats heros, and if hero checks and villain bets, what does hero do? Just seemed like a really bad spot 200bb deep. 50nl Stacks (note 200bb) btn $100 hero is sb $100 Preflop: Hero - A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]K [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] co limps Btn raises $2.5, Hero re-raises to $8, Btn calls,co folds Flop ($17) 9 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]9 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]Q [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] Hero bets $13, Btn calls Turn ($42) A [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Hero????? |

if hero bets, villain will not continue w/o a hand that beats heros [/ QUOTE ] This is not necessarily true, and it's also not a reason to check. I would bet again. Your hand is actually fairly well disguised to some opponents. |

Re: AK in 3b pot turn play
Bet $30-35 and fold to a raise.

Re: AK in 3b pot turn play 200bb deep, tough spot
oh, hero's image is tight, probably around 16/11 or something like that. if we bet turn, villain would MAYBE continue with KK but i still highly doubt that, esp at these levels, not many people bluff in 3b pots. If we bet turn, say for 2/3rds (which will leave us with 100bb, half the original stack), what are we doing when getting raised? If called, what is the plan for a blank river?

IMO you are vastly overestimating the tightness of your opponents.
edit: and how much they are paying attention to your image. |
