Default cheapest plan for weekly Foxwoods trips

I plan on going to Foxwoods every week for the foreseeable future, either Sat-Mon or Sun-Tue. What would be the cheapest option for lodging within 15 minutes or so from the casino? Should I consider renting a room in a house? Do any of the hotels have special deals for people who stay there regularly? Any info would be appreciated.

I have slept under the stud tables when they close just fine. But if you're tall you might need to find one for hold'em.

Bellisimo grande in N Stonington is a good place. You can ax for the poker rate and they will give it to u for 79$ (snd that was in the summer, so maybe cheaper). Or go on roomsaver.com and print out bellisimo coupons , they are 59$ but they usually say we dont honor it anymore and give it to u for 79$. Its like 5 minutes down the street. I used to stay there 3-4 nights a week , its an ok hotel, looks expensive but u can tell its kinda made cheaply, but does have 40 inch plasmas in every room.

If we're talking about free options, every time I pass through the bus lobby late at night, it is packed full of people sleeping in the chairs. The staff doesn't seem to mind.

I use kayak.com Hotel search, @ Groton CT.

For Saturday nights the Niantic Motel 6 is the cheapest (summer rates $89.95+ tax and $84.99 if you click on Motel 6 special rate on-line when available). But this is 25+ minutes from Foxwoods.

All other nights Econolodge, Groton (used to be Sojourner Inn) is cheapest or comparable. With enough time in advance it can be as low as $48+tax. And every 10 nights stayed you get a $50 credit on the next night. This is 15+ minutes from Foxwoods.

Both of these offer check-in anytime (up until 5am or so) and cancellation policies vary (Econolodge is 24 hours in advance).

Sounds like you need lodging 2 nights per week. That works out to a little more than 8 nights per month on average. If (a big “if”) you found a room at a local hotel or motel for $75 per night average, then you are paying over $600 per month. More realistically, I’d expect to pay $800 or more per month on average for this option.

A better bet would be to look on craigslist for apartments or rooms to rent in the area. I took a peek at the recent listings when pulling up that URL, and saw roommate ads in the $400 to $600 range, and a few cheap apartments between $600 and $700. Of course, you'd need to figure out associated costs for utilities and the like to determine whether this option makes sense.

I mean, if you wanna get ambitious start up a poker house for 2+2'ers playing at teh woodz. But more realisitically the motels are going to add up to be pretty expensive if you do this every week. Someone mentioned an apt on craigslist and that is probably the best option....if you can deal with a roommate, that makes things even cheaper.
