Re: Does this Sklansky Book Exist?
[ QUOTE ]
Here is the "capsule" version: [ QUOTE ] This is the latest collection of essays by poker expert extraordinaire David Sklansky. It's similar to his well worthwhile work Sklansky on Poker. His insights on games of poker are generally very accurate and inciteful and are well worth study by the poker student. His articles on Life, while interesting, are not outstanding. Even if you strongly dislike this section, there is easily sufficient material here to make the purchase of this book a good value. [/ QUOTE ] [/ QUOTE ] I love Sklansky's presumption that he is capable of talking about life. F**kups (i.e. most of us) have two choices as we get older: depressive self-awareness or insanity. Sklanners chose delusion long ago, and I'm sure he'll live longer for it. |

Re: Does this Sklansky Book Exist?
I think I own a 2+2/Sklansky book that actually doesn't exist (in a manner of speaking) anymore.
"Poker Night, with David Sklansky" It's a 112 page 2+2 book. It has "Special edition strategy book" on the cover and actually came with a computer game I bought years ago. Terrible game by the way. Interesting contents though. The first seventy pages of the book is Mason Malmuth and Lynne Loomis' "Fundamentals of Poker" while the last 50 pages is excerps from sklansky that includes: Expectation and Hourly rate Have a Plan The eight mistakes in poker semi-bluffing Important fourth street concepts The cards that are out Picking good games For the studious player I'm glad I own it. There can't be many left. Anyone else own it? |
