Default Pocket Nine\'s Call down

Opponent was 50/25/2 after only 12 hands.

PokerStars 2/4 Hold'em (5 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums)

Preflop: Hero is Button with 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img].

Flop: (9.50 SB) J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 2[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players)

Turn: (5.75 BB) K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players)

River: (7.75 BB) J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players)
UTG bets, Hero calls.

Final Pot: 9.75 BB

If you were to get away from the hand, is it right to get away on the turn? (assuming you called the turn, you pretty much always call that river, correct?)

I usually fold the turn. Especially considering the PF action. River is a definite fold.

What did you put him on, AQ?

I'm raising the flop. When/if he 3-bets me, I call to get lucky and fold the turn. AK just got there. You're praying he's got AQ and he certainly doesn't have AQ often enough to pay 2BBs.

Verde's right w/ the whole "call turn = call river," but we shouldn't be calling the turn just about ever without some killer read.

nice hand. he might have 33 44 55 66 88 99 AQ AT A9s QTs other random air. if there's a fold to make its on the turn. see what he has this time, adjust later.

to be honest, against an UTG raise, I hate my hand PF, but if I three bet, I'd call a cap, call the flop, and on the turn:

it's over.

I think calling down here vs. and Unknown is no good. With a read, or if he's chuck999, nh

There are plenty of agro monkeys out there where you MUST call down.. But against a random unknown at 2/4 its probabily correct to fold the turn.

I fold the turn here most likely, even if villain is overly loose and aggressive. Of course, these stats don't tell us how villain plays postflop, but you can assume he'll bet every street regardless of his cards, which makes a calldown more profitable. Still, his preflop capping range probably includes too many hands that are far ahead of you on the turn, so toss those cards.
