Default KK HU with weird aggro action

UTG is 16/9.3/2.60 after 43 hands

Since it was HU, my plan was to c/r the turn, which didn't quite work out like I planned.

Party Poker ($1/$2 limit). Hand converted by Check Raised hand converter

Preflop (9 players): Hero is UTG+1 with K K
UTG calls [2.5:1].
HERO 2 bets.
7 folds.
UTG calls [5.5:1].

Flop (5.5 small bets ($5.5) in pot, 2 players): 5 3 Q
UTG checks.
HERO bets.
UTG 2 bets.
HERO calls [9.5:1].

Turn (4.75 bets ($9.5) in pot, 2 players): 5 3 Q 5
UTG checks.
HERO bets.
UTG 2 bets.
HERO 3 bets.
UTG calls [10.75:1].

River (10.75 bets ($21.5) in pot, 2 players): 5 3 Q 5 9

3-jack that flop (you weak-tight nit).

Edited to make insult optional.

Just as a note: all my insults are meant as jokes. I am not trying to be a jerk or anything.

Why is 3 betting the flop preferable to c/r the turn?

I generally prefer getting as much money in possible as early as possible when I'm likely ahead. Your villain is a nitty TAG, you'll either get called here and then called down the rest of the way, or it'll get capped and you'll know you're in trouble. Either way I think the hand is easier to play like this. You don't lose EV by not going for a turn check-raise against this opponent, as he'll likely fold if he's beaten, but you'll lose more when you're behind.

You can't C/R the turn since you are last to act...

Okay, yes, brain fart when posting. Was playing at the same time.

Re-phrase: why 3 betting the flop preferable to waiting for the turn to raise, Doc?

Edit: answered. Nevermind.
