its simple math, if u expect him to call this large bet a certain percent and the EV of that percent is greater than a normal bet that u think he will call often then its a +EV play, real simple, i dont feel like doin the math out cuz i do it in lots of posts

Dude, you only want to control the pot with a hand you don't want to go broke with. That's the whole idea behind controlling it. What was your plan? Keep the pot small with the nuts and then fold if the board paired?

Usually the best plan is to check the flop and turn with the nuts, and if you still have the nuts by the river, just shove then. If the board pairs by the river I'll either call a bet no more than 1/6th of the pot or fold.
