Default half-clay/half-grass court Federer v Nadal

I'm no tennis expert, but this looks interesting.

Battle of the Surfaces

Federer vs Nadal. One side of the court is clay, one side is grass. May 2nd, likely pro-Nadal crowd, best-of-three sets. They will change sides as they would in a normal match.

So who has the edge? And what if they weren't switching sides? And what if Nick Rainey was playing on ice with a rubber hose?

Wow that is awesome.

Roger has to be a huge favorite, but I hope it's an amazing match.

This is real? Wow I thought this post was another hypothetical sports forum post. Federer should win because he is likely to be much more dominant over Nadal on grass than Nadal is over him on clay. This better be broadcast live.

Roger should really never lose a service game when he is hitting from clay to grass.

Does the edge come from being on the court type you favor or from your opponent being on that surface? or both?

why are some people so much better at one that the other.

thanks,

from a tennis noob.
