I don't see how poker would be any different than doing anything else on your computer during class (obv besides taking notes). If someone randomly saw it they probably wouldn't think it was for real money anyway.

I personally couldn't give a [censored] what students do in my classes as long as they don't disturb others and don't start screaming, "OH MY GOD, YOU [censored] FISH, HOW COULD YOU MAKE THAT CALL AND SUCK OUT ON ME LIKE THAT!!?!"

An occasional "Ship it, holla" whispered in the back is acceptable.

If there's no attendance why even go to lecture if youre going to play poker? Seems like you would be more efficient in your room.

For me, my initial intent is to go to class & take notes..& then oops, suddenly I am playing poker.

And yes I have yelled "Ship it" out loud, got some funny looks but most of my friends knew what it meant.

I've been going over hand histories in class instead. That way if I have to stop suddenly I'm still in the clear.

the only reason i can think of to play poker in a public space is to get attention, i can't imagine you can play especially well in the middle of class and it seems a waste of time to go. if it is this much of a problem dont bring a laptop to class

One of my classes is completely pointless to go to the lectures but he gives pop quizzes. Only class I use the laptop for.
