I think MP2 was an idiot for not folding on the flop after you 3 bet him.

I would have made the same analysis, but it turns out that he had only 4 outs because MP2 had 77. What you said was correct, however, since you said he had 7 outs verses 88, not 7 outs all together.

Fold. You have 7 outs, but I don't see you getting out of putting in four bets into 18, 18:4 = 4.5 to 1, much worse than the odds you are getting to win this pot.
