i read the books you mentioned OP and liked them, so one book i recently read and enjoyed a lot was Reminiscences of a Stock Operator. Basically about a stock trader from early 1900s and how he made and lost his fortune several times over. This is a bit different then the books you mentioned but does fit your description of normal smart people doing cool stuff
