Straddle minimum raise?
In NL, lets say a 1-3 game, if someone straddles for $6 is the minimum raise to $9 or $12? I know this has been discussed at some point in the past but I can't find the thread. My opinion is that it's $12 because the straddle is like a 3rd blind with an option and a raise has to double the blind.

If it is to $12, then the minimum bets on flop, etc would be $6, correct?

What would be your ruling? [/ QUOTE ] I would like to rule $6, but I think I would rule $3. Fortunately I don't think anyone is goofy enough to want to know what the min is in a straddled pot.

According to Robert's Rules of Poker section 14.15, the minimum bet is the size of the bring-in, and straddling changes the bring-in to the size of the straddle. Of course, not all sites use Robert's Rules.

Some games (haven't seen many this way recently) will have blind of x and 2x but nobody can call 2x they have to bring in for at least 4x if they want to play.

[/ QUOTE ] Ok, that's not my reading of 14.2, which starts, "The minimum bet size is the amount of the minimum bring-in, unless the player is going all-in. The minimum bring-in is the size of the big blind unless the structure of the game is preset by the house to some other amount (such as double the big blind). The minimum bet remains the same amount on all betting rounds." 14.2 includes an example on the flop where the bring-in is $100, and a $20 push could only be raised to at least $120. 14.15 includes, " A straddle bet sets a new minimum bring-in; it is not treated as a raise."
