Well, if we assume 30 hands/hour, that would imply that 45BB are raked out of the table per hour, which would require the 2 suckers to donate over 20BB/hour each. That's not usually going to happen unless they're colosally bad.
Which means that this game can only be beaten by being a super-shark and taking money off the "strong players" and "lags". This table can support either 0 or 1 long term winners depending on the exact players involved. So unless this is your only option, I wouldn't even bother trying.

This is your typical $1/2 online game. Yes, it can be beat, since it's highly unlikely there are 5-6 strong players in the game at these stakes.

Go. Up. Dude. 2/4 multi-tabling - you could beat the rake. And I promise their arent many sharks waiting for you there. Live? - 3/6 barely cuts it I think.

Hmm I am actually playing micro limits but am slowly building a role where ill be comfortable playing 1/2 and this interests me. Considering the high rake at this level is it really hard to make a long term profit or perhaps you only mean in though games. I like to watch 1/2 (at Absolute)sometimes to see what I can expect and honestly did not see any major difference from .5/1. If the games are filled with fish at 1/2 is it beatable in the long run?

I am experiencing the same problem, I am in the process of building my bankroll, and 1-2 is the next level for me, however I have been beating the hell out of the 0.50-1$ games... would 1800$ be enough to start a 3-6 game? at what limit does the opposittion become really tough? when I watch the 3-6 games it seems the players are much better than in the 0.50-1$ games so even if I am a big winner in those I might not be profitable in the 3-6 games... Any advice what I should do???

If you wish to skip 1/2 limit why don't you jump to 2/4 instead of going straight to 3/6? Your bankroll is easily big enough to play 2/4 while it might be too small for 3/6, especially if you're playing shorthanded.
I guess this depends on the site, but I heard that 3/6 was one of the thougher limits online, even thougher than 5/10, as most of the multitabling TAGs play at 3/6. It's only something I heard and cannot say from experience though.

[/ QUOTE ] For a game with an average pot size of 5 bets (which is typical given the description he provided), the average rake per hand would be 0.25 bets with a 5% max 3 rake structure.
