Re: Screwplay then sexy
Hand 1: Well, you'd think it'd either be a stubborn PP or another ace (although we can't completely rule out a 4 against this guy).
I think I like it. Hand 2: I'd probably just bet-call here, partly because I'm not really crazy about that river card. I guess it doesn't matter much if you think a checkraise-fold would be safe, but I don't like making plays like that against LAGs. |

Re: Screwplay then sexy
A potential 3-bet scares me a lot less in the first hand than in the second hand. That combined with a somewhat ugly river card in the second hand makes me like your screwplay a lot more than your sexy.

Re: Screwplay then sexy
lead the turn in hand one. u cant bet/raise if u check first. if ur ego needs to c/r someone do it on the river
in hand two ur losing way too much value from ace and king high |

Re: Screwplay then sexy
Hand 1: Are you planning on check-raising? I'd bet...but check-raise if I checked. Too dangerous he'll take the free card when he would have called another bet.
Hand 2: You definitely need to bet this. A cheap showdown seems to be what he wants... Ninth Path |

Are you planning on check-raising? [/ QUOTE ] Yes, by definition, a screwplay is checkraising the turn after you were the last aggressor on the flop. [ QUOTE ] Hand 2: You definitely need to bet this. A cheap showdown seems to be what he wants... [/ QUOTE ] I agree with this, unless the OP has a read that the villain is clueless. There are some players who auto-bet when checked to, and in this case the sexy is awesome here. But against your average player, I expect them to check behind. |

Re: Screwplay then sexy
I'd bet both.
Depending on your stats/how other players view you... I would call, but not bet a top pair hand in hand 2 (which is more likely than someone who rivered a better hand). Hand 1, I don't see any reason to not bet. |

Re: Screwplay then sexy
Hand 1. I prefer a sexy if you're going to try a move. There's plenty of hands that aren't betting this turn (FD). PP may even fold to screwplay. I'm not even sure I like a sexy, but I like it more than a screwplay. I'm all for the moves but I think this one is bet/bet/bet.
Hand 2. As long as you can fold to a 3bet. |

Re: Screwplay then sexy
hand 1: what are you hoping for? if he has a pair he's worried yours is bigger and will probably check. he might even check a worse ace, but probably not. I'd rather bet.
hand 2: too likely he has a very very bad made hand or ace high and will check behind but call. there are no busted draws for him to bluff off of. it's probably close though. |
