Re: New Zealand - what to do?
lots to do but it is all outside. the best stuff is on the south island. hit all the tourist spots then find the good ones, like places where the penguins come up on the shore at dusk and isnt full of people in bleachers.
drive to wellington and take the ferry to picton fish in crystel clear waters and have to stalk your fish or not get one. hike some of the famous tracks like the milfod or greenstone. buy some detol or the sand flies will eat you alive. bungee jump at skippers white water raft learn about the maori people |

Re: New Zealand - what to do?
I'd do the south island first, since that has some of the best touristy bs, and then head to the north island once you're over the south.
(I don't have any recommendations as to what to do, I guess living here I don't care about doing some of the tourist stuff ;D) |

Re: New Zealand - what to do?
the whole country is pretty. the only parts you want to go thru quickly is the drive to picton except for stopping at lake taupo and maybe rotorua if you like to see hot pools.
lots of farm and cow country in the north island. |

Re: New Zealand - what to do?
I live in Wellington, not alot to do in in Wellington but if ya drive thru I spose ya gotta go up and down the cable car, maybe a tourist thing but everyone seems amazed by it.
Auckland: Skybungee off the skytower. Mt Maunganui(sp?): Touristy place but dont think there is uch to do there. Ill find out when I head up at NewYears. Rotorua: Luge and a few other tourist activities. Kaikoura: Whale watching Queenstown: Main tourist destination, lots to do. Other: rest of South Island Ive herd is alrite. |
