Taylor / CR Support:

When I try to Stream the Video, it does not load. The Windows Media Player Plugin just stays blank.

I then tried the Download Video button, but IE reports the following Javascript error and simply reloads the page without starting any downloads:

[ QUOTE ]

Line: 52
Char: 3
Error: Invalid Argument
Code: 0
URL: http://www.cardrunners.com/members/s...?mode=download

[/ QUOTE ]

Normally, I use Firefox, but it wasn't allowing me to see the download page -- I got the redirect error others were mentioning (despite having edited my hosts file for the DNS change).

Anyhow, I downloaded the video by looking for the manual link in the HTML code, that worked fine... but something is wrong with the Video Download/Stream page's Javascript syntax.

I agree with a previous poster it appears it has to do with opening a pop-up window, though IE simply says there are errors and reloads the page for me instead of warning me of any pop-ups. I believe the window.open function does try to open a pop-up, but it's been a long time since I touched Javascript. :P

I'm downloading now. Here's how I fixed it:

Open you hosts file (usually c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts) in notepad and add these lines:

66.209.214.49 cardrunners.com
66.209.214.49 www.cardrunners.com

Save file, restart your browser and download the cts vid!

[/ QUOTE ]

i try to do this but i cant save file, anyone knows what i did wrong?

[/ QUOTE ]

Could be cause it's a hidden file, try saving as "hosts.txt" or something, delete the old one, rename hosts.txt to hosts.

The "download video" button did not work in IE for me (gave me a Javascript error and nothing happened, this is in IE 7 on XP), but did in Firefox.

[/ QUOTE ]

You need to go to Tools > Folder Options, then go to the View tab, then activate Show hidden files and folders and deactivate Hide protected operating system files. Then click apply. Then right click on the hosts file and deactivate Read-only.

Should be able to open with note pad and save just fine now.

Well, I just bit the bullet and signed up too cardrunners for 6 months. Hope its not a completely stupid move for a 25nl player (well, now 10nl because my bankroll is shot lol).

Hopefully I can rebuilt quickly with my new knowledge bank.

The new site looks good. Downloading the cts video right now. Having played some with Fabian I think he's a good choice for a ssnl/msnl instructor. gl
