Default Buying monitor from USA for use in UK

Is there any problem with compatibility of using a monitor bought in the US in the UK? Is the power socket in the monitor different?

Care to elaborate? Can I use a UK power cable in a USA monitor?

UK uses 230 volts, USA uses 110 volts.

The plugs are very different. If you use a plug adapter and plug it in it will almost certainly burn out, possibly melting or catching fire.

You might be able use a "power adapter" but I don't know specifically if it will work on a monitor; they do work for things like electric shavers and hair dryers.
