Default NL 10 How bad is my play on the river?

I made a crying call here after tanking forever. I had previously doubled through villian when he shoved a busted draw on the river, and had seen him make the same move another time at this table. Based on that I felt like enough of his range was some sort of busted draw, or possible a 7 with worse kicker or two pair that I made the call on the end, but feel it was pretty bad.

Fold preflop. The only Aces you should play up front are AQ and AK and some people would argue that you should fold AQ in EP.

[/ QUOTE ] The only busted draw here is KQ and that doesn't make up alot of his range. I don't know the action of the previous hand but you're showing a ton of strength by raising the turn and potting the river so it is probably a different situation than the hand you stacked him in.

The hand I stacked him in actually went down the exact same way, in fact I re-raised him on the flop in that hand, then potted the whole way down.

I realize its a fold pf for sure, and I fold this 90% of the time, but I hadnt played a hand for like 15 hands or so, and just got bored.

Play more tables if you are getting bored. Unless you have massive leaks in your game in which case you will just spew more.

fold preflop. Fold flop even to minbet unless heads up and feel you can take it away. I think that your river play was fine given read on villain. I would not have folded. This is just a cooler for you. sorry. dont overanalyze it. you played incorrectly pf and flop. but turn and river are fine.

</sigh>

there are times when i get ready to post up a hand then take a look at the post "preview" to be sure everything is correct. it's at that time, while looking it over, it dawns on me what a tool i was to even consider posting the hand in question to begin with. i then delete the post with the echoes of what others would have obviously, and correctly replied with ringing in my ears.

on some days, the most enlightening post you'll make is the one you'll fail to finally submit.

posting a hand is one thing. rationalizing your play "because you were bored" is another.

fold your ace/rags preflop and avoid sitches like this.

This style of play from villain seems to be kind of Cake Poker-centric. The regulars know that the donks make these min-bets when they are on a draw, so they have started to mimic them in order to trap. Unfortunately, the best defense against this play (raising the min-bet and then folding to the shove) is very exploitable, so you have to get a handle on its use.
