How can an image that's pre-rendered frame by frame to do 1 specific action look different for everyone.

[/ QUOTE ]

It isn't doing 1 specific thing. It works because it's a solid blacked-out mass. It wouldn't work if there was shading and light involved, as it would become clear as to how to interpret the 3-D woman.

FOR WHOEVER THINKS IT'S THE IMAGE AND NOT YOUR EYES/BRAIN

watch the shadow

The shadow is irrelevant. You don't know which direction the light is coming from.

I seen nothing but counter for 30 mins and when I finally looked at the shadow I got it to switch back and forth so it's obviously not irrelevant.

I wasn't speaking about relevance in that sense. All I meant is that it can't be used for justification of which way she's spinning.

Also, FWIW, I think what you just described coincides with one of my previous posts. When you take your focus off of the dancer, it is easier for her to switch directions.

I found that by looking at the feet, I can get my brain to see it spinning both clockwise, and counter-clockwise. Just look at the foot, and "see" it spinning clockwise. It's easy to picture because as one of the posters said, you can't tell by just looking at the foot which way it is spinning. It can be spinning either way. Then once you "see" her foot spinning that way, look at the rest of the body. That's how I did it anyway.

[/ QUOTE ]

Yeah, TiK, this is eventually how I got it to switch.

This thread was tilting me for a while because the entire time, all I could see was counter-clockwise. I thought everyone here was insane, because no matter how hard I tried, all I saw I was counter. Then I got really upset because I thought I was a creative type -- I'm a writer, filmmaker, etc. -- but this page was telling me I'm only logical.

Finally I did what TiK suggested and forced myself to see the foot spin the other way, and now I can see why you guys might have seen the clockwise spin. But the clockwise spin still looks unnatural to me; whereas when I go back to counterclockwise, it feels much more graceful.

Also, that chick is kinda hot.

The shadow being there proves that the image doesn't change.

For those of you who see it going Clockwise...is your left thumb over your right thumb when you fold you hands (like as if you were praying?)

I don't think anyone read my long post earlier but I think if you are right brained your left thumb rests on your right thumb, and if left-brained your right thumb folds over you left.

Let me know if this is consistent with the naked chick image.
