most of the players who make the final tables are from europe.
it would be nice if they could move at least some of the events so they start 3-6 hours earlier.

[/ QUOTE ]

Through 15 events, counting the last 8 of the heads-up as the "final table", there have been 54 US + 6 Canada + Brazil, compared to 53 Europe, along with 3 New Zealands, an Australia, and a Korea. A compromise might be something along the lines of one event at 13:00 ET/18:00 GMT and one event at 18:00 ET/23:00 GMT each day.

Great suggestion from rminusq. 2 Events per day so that 1 hold'em and 1 non-hold'em event per day. 2 day tournaments with 11 hour limit unless the FT has already started.

To someone going to work in monday morning in Europe the start times at sundays 22:30 CET/23:30 EET (= EST+6/EST+7) are quite tough, if you plan on playing for 10+ hours.

Also, another thing.

Rebuy tournaments and limit tournaments should allow registration right up to the end of the rebuy period / first 90 mins / whenever, even if people bust out. I know this may set a precedent and I see the negative view in this that makes Stars not want to do this for their regular events, but I think in these special events it is okay and would encourage more participation (such as, from people that get home an hour or so later than the tourney begins)

Oh yeah, and maybe two TOCs...

[/ QUOTE ]

This might be kinda out there but....for the TOC, winners get into the event (or 2 NLHE and HORSE?) for free. People who final table get into the event for 1/2 Price (250 on a 500$ buy in for the TOC) and anyone who finishes in the top 27 gets the opportunity to buy in at full price. Throw in the "sponsored people" (Greg Raymer, Daniel N. Hachem, etc) and you have one killer tourney. Plus, its not 5000 people, so its not going to last 33 hours.

I'm bored at work, what else can I say?

I like this idea for a TOC:

No entry fee. It's a freeroll to something. Anyone who final tabled any event gets in. Players start with number of chips equal to the number of real dollars they won at the final table.

For the TOC, give TLB-like points to the top 10% of those who cash. So for the $530 NLHE, 6000 players, 900 cashed, 90 get TOC points. The top 45 play for a $100,000 prize pool, with the winner getting a WSOP seat, the top 3 all getting PCA seats, and the last 9 splitting ~$50k in cash. Stars has already made $700,000+ in rake on the main events alone, so I'd like to think putting up 100k for the best of the best isn't that absurd.

I think resetting the time bank every 8 hours or something would be cool

QFT

Regarding 2 day events. I like the idea, and anyone who posts here on this forum would. But don't you think a lot of casual gamblers might not register if they have to commit for 2 days? I'm not so sure having 2 day events is such a no brainer as this thread would indicate. Maybe having a worse structure for the ridiculously huge events might be the way to go. I really hate pay out structures where you get less than twice the buy in back ITM and there is literally no increase worth speaking of until the FT. A bit exaggerated, but you get the point.

Nevermind if it already works like this, I can't remember. But why not add 5 seconds to the timebank for each level, max time should be whatever you started the tournament with.

A low buy-in WCOOP thing would obviously be called the mini-COOP, leading to the sponsorship/prize deal with Mini Coopers.
