Default River check fold with top pair

Villain was something really weird like 80/16/.8

Preflop: Hero is CO with A, 8.
2 folds[/i]</font>, Hero raises</font>, Button 3-bets</font>, 2 folds[/i]</font>, Hero calls.

Flop: (7.50 SB) J, Q, A 2 players)</font>
Hero checks, Button bets</font>, Hero calls.

Turn: (4.75 BB) T 2 players)</font>
Hero checks, Button bets</font>, Hero calls.

River: (6.75 BB) 6 2 players)</font>
Hero checks, Button bets</font>, Hero folds.

I check-fold the turn. The pot is small. I don't mind this line if you have a read villain is unlikely to fire three barrels with a worse hand, but again, the pot is pretty small and you have to a) have the best hand and b) hope villain doesn't bluff the river.
