I did not sign the release. Have to wait for a check, too.

I don't see any way neteller turns over any records to the IRS unless they have to do so anyway. What do they have to gain from doing so? If they did do this, especially when not compulsory, they would lose the trust of the few remaining customers they have. They are a publicly traded company which still has operations to worry about in the rest of the world, not a vindictive ex-lover. I didn't have much money in there, but I still didn't sign the release.

crap, i assumed you had to sign the release to get the money out. otherwise i definitely would not have signed it b/c there's no way in hell they're suing me, and there's some chance someone more motivated than me will sue them, and i want my piece. oh well. glad i've been paying my taxes.

I can not see a reason why neteller would ever sue a legitmate u.s. poker player who never committed fraud etc.

And if the masterminds at Neteller did have a cunning plan that involved suing us, they wouldn't offer us a release to opt out of being sued.

signing would be silly, someone with deep pockets is obviously going to sue neteller and it's going to become class action very quickly

neteller simply worded the release to seems threatening so that non thinking people will release them from a lot of legitimate litigation

[/ QUOTE ]

Ok, let's say someone sued Neteller, and the court decides that they need to pay $X to every customer. Would having signed the release forfeit your ability to collect that money?

Also, are you qualified to be making the statement about the class action lawsuit (ie. some type of legal background), or is it just wild speculation? I'm not trying to be offensive. Speculation is fine, but I'd just like to know. Thanks.

I must assume the waiver benefits Neteller and not me.
I'm guessing they would have made us sign the waiver for release of cash if they could have. Requiring us to sign must have put them on shaky ground legally or conflicted with their old terms of service.

I did not sign the waiver.

I could see no benefit to myself in doing so. I only had $500 in Netfink, so I didn't stand to lose as much as others who may have signed because they have more money at stake.

Of course, the more money one had in Neteller, the more money lost to interest alone.

[/ QUOTE ]

no if you don't sign then you can still sue.

by signing you are agreeing basically not to be able to sue.
