No Online Satellites to WSOP?
I heard on the ESPN podcast by Phil Gordon that Harrah's is not going to accept any third party registrations to the WSOP next year. Obviously, this would have a HUGE (and disastrous) impact on field size.
Has anyone else heard this? |

Are you just cranky because you have now lost your chance to even up from last year's effort? |

Wait a minute wait a minute wait a minute...
Does "third party" include satellites won at other casinos? Jesus, there's going to be like 64 people playing the Main Event this year (perhaps my best chance to finally become world champion). |

Re: No Online Satellites to WSOP?
you mean the ESPN podcast that was live during the final table? The gambling ban wasn't even an issue then, so why would that ever be the case? I don't buy it.

Without satellites from online andn other casinos, harrahs would lose like 5 million dollarsish. |

The weekly ESPN poker edge podcast for this week. It was an offhand comment by Phil Gordon.

Doesn't really makie sense that they would not accept from other casinos. That's like no longer selling apples because of the E. coli in spinach .................................................. ...... or something.

The comment was made in the context of the impact of the UIGA on live events. But it was not clear (1) whether the Harrah's decision was linked to the legislation or (2) what the scope of their policy change was. |
