Default Pretty much all significant Long Island clubs raided wednesday night

[ QUOTE ]
Suffolk County authorities shut down a slew of underground Texas Hold 'em poker games Wednesday night, Suffolk County District Attorney Thomas Spota's office said Thursday.

Nine people were arrested, and authorities seized joker poker machines, gambling tables and more than $10,000 in cash, prosecutors said.

The poker parlors were in Lindenhurst, Wyandanch, Farmingdale, Farmingville, Holbrook, Deer Park and Bohemia.

im sure the police have known about these places so I can only speculate that last weeks shooting had something to do with this

the small amount of people arrested and cash seized seems odd newday article

If your thread should be deleted it wouldn't be here right now LDO The thread last night had no problems with it with the exception of one statement which was edited because it contained just a tiny bit too much info. I wish I knew where it went Thanks for posting this!

TT - I'm pretty sure you're referring to the post I made in the NYC thread.

EWS87 - you already know everything that was posted last night, no names until outed by the press, thats the standard rule around here. Mid-afternoon when they hold the press conference I would guess that all the details will be leaked. The newspaper claims 10k was taken from 9 rooms - combined, a lot smaller than the false NYC claims of 250k.

Durs522 was right, it was in the NYC thread, it was so late when it was posted and I was tired - I must have thought it was in its own thread.

NY Times called me today to wrap up their story which will run tomorrow. The reporter didn't know about the LI robberies, while I was on the phone he turned to the guy from Newsday who was standing next to him. As he pointed out the two events are likely only correlated by the heightened awareness of "risk", NYC and Suffolk County police (and Suffolk/Nassau Police) departments usually do not cooperate with one another on cases such as this.
