Default McAfee Site Advisor

I dunno if you're already aware of this, but McAfee SiteAdvisor, a piece of software that people install on their computers to prevent them from accidentally visiting sites that install adware, trojans, phishing, etc. blocks 2+2. Apparently, because you can download Everest Poker's software from the site. This is obviously retarded, and though I've left a message on their website, as the site owners, you might want to contact them and let them know how and why this is stupid.

You can see the details here:

Some people, and most companies that block web sites don't want people reading about gambling.

Why does this still seem like gambling to you? I mean, why do you think the same five guys make it to the final table of the World Series of Poker EVERY SINGLE YEAR? What, are they the luckiest guys in Las Vegas? It's a skill game, kerowo.

that's beside the point: McAfee siteadvisor is blocking it not because it contains gambling content, but because it contains "unsafe" content (in this case, links to download Everest poker).

On the McAfee 2+2 page you can see that sites considered "safe" include Full Tilt, PokerStars, and Bodog.

here's what McAfee thinks of Casonline (the Everest installer):

If Casonline is a rogue application of some sort, then 2+2 should be removing links to it, rather than asking McAfee to change the rating.

Thanks for the details on this. While I agree that it is a little silly for blocking the site for this reason, it also was OK for us to just provide the link to the page where Everest can be downloaded instead of including the "offensive" download link on our site.

I have removed the download link. I'm not sure how long it will take the McAfee site advisor to adknowledge the change, but will follow up with contacting them if need be.
