I LOL'ed! This is like a great practical joke gone bad imo. hope you didn't get stacked here.

[/ QUOTE ]

did you look at the stack sizes in the blinds?

I would do this if they had dwindled down to like $150ish but w/ them at 200 just 3X it IMO.

I mean this is just a basic SNG pushbot question right?

sorta, except the payout structure is what dictates pushbotting in SNGs, since the chips you risk in SNGs are worth less than the ones you win, but worth the same amt in cash obv. even in a SNG i would make it 2.5X 20bbs deep, and start shoving around 12-15BBs prob.

edit: but yeah this is clearly a +EV shove, and you can do it with a super wide range here. just not sure its optimal, which depends on how the shorties play.

thoughts on how this works for metagame?

in other words, we want to be stealing these guys' blinds with junk sometimes (raising to like $25-$30). shouldn't we be balancing this by doing the same with premiums?

yes, or else shoving anything you raise w/ only shortstacks left to act, which i usually do when effective stacks hit 15BBs

but then we have to tighten our opening range, right?

not necessarily, our opening range should be a function of their calling range.

i.e.: if they call w/ 30% of hands then 70% of the time we win $15, and 30% of the time we have our hand's equity vs the top 30% of hands. so if .7(15)+ .3(our equity in an all in pot vs their calling range) is > 0 a shove is +EV.
