I can't remember where it was, but I just saw an article by I believe the Football Outsider guys, where they used some Pythagorean Expected Wins thing that said Norv was like the 5th worst HC ever (he's now 60-84-1), but he'll get worse after SD goes 9-7 this year. Kotite was prolly #1 and I think Coslet was up there, along w/Dennis Erickson.

LOL at Marv Lewis, and Billick is IMO w/o question the most overrated coach in history. Elvis Grbac signing says it all. Had the Ravens kept Dilfer & Marv, used the Grbac money to keep the defense intact (IIRC Sharper left after the SB), and prevented Ray from killing two people, it couldn't help but have turned out far better than it has.

Would you Bears fans prefer the Ravens era Dilfer over Rex?

Today's TMQ rips Norv for the Pats game, but also is hysterically, irrationally over the top over the spying thing.

Hi, Gayman Sanchez here. Just would like to say I agree with Billick being overrated. He has failed dramatically to turn around the offense.

Same thing with Marvin Lewis in Cinci. on the defensive side of the ball.

Simmons was talking about his ability to inspire a football team, He said a football player would not be inspired by his play

[/ QUOTE ]

1) Simmons has no clue what actually inspires NFL players in the locker room. But if you actually *read* what NFLers say about him, it is clear they are inspired by him, just like Dungy's players are, and Vermeil's players were.

2) I guaran-DAMM-tee you that winning $$$ in casinos is something that gets 90%+ players excited, whether it be them or their coaches doing it. Just like most people.

Fanbois need to stop sucking Simmons cocksicle.

[/ QUOTE ]

I wasn't saying simmons was right, I don't have enough knowledge on NFL coaches to say one way or the other. I was just pointing out what he was saying made sense independent of his blackjack error. He might be completely wrong about the coach though.
