If they regulated it and/or made it legal in the US, it would be hell of easier for them to track and tax it

Ive heard arguements against online poker and saying it should become illegal b/c atm it is based outside the US, ie all the revenue generated by the industry is staying outside the US. Rather then just attempting to make it illegal to keep the money in the US they also could just legalize it. Id think that if it was legalized all the major US casinos would open up sites pretty quickly and that it would be reported and such by them and taxed just as quickly/easily as before.

Yup, this is the kind of precision of language I'd expect from a solid news outlet. Oh, wait, this is NPR.

Yeah because mainstream corporate news isn't saying the same thing.

Believe me, that wasn't my point. I just like busting on people who regard NPR as the last bastion of honest, intrepid journalism.

Just curious...who do you trust when it comes to the news?
Or do you pretty much have to sift through every bodies bs and decide for yourself what is legit?

Who do I trust? It depends on the story, and where (ideologically) each outlet is most likely coming from. I read it all from Ann Coulter to CNN to Daily Kos, and usually the truth (to me at least) falls somewhere in the middle.

But enough with the threadjack (which I'm aware I partly started). I thought this NPR host put on a very weak performance.

I heard the show and was very frustrated by the lack of knowledge and preparation exhibited by pretty much everyone involved. The show felt very aimless and haphazard.

Such a waste of a great opportunity.

I mean, really. I would think that NPR would be very, very supportive of our mutual best friend, The Honorable Barney Frank of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

Is "Talk of the Nation" the one where they read aloud the listener mail once a week? If so, TheEngineer or someone should get on this.
