Default What color belt to wear with blue jeans?

Assume casual jeans, in either basic dark or light blue...with white sneakers.

Depends on the shoes.

I'm currently wearing a baige and blue striped belt around my jeans, retro all the way!

However, if I'm going for the smart-casual look, always black.

I would never wear white sneakers with jeans. Too Jerry Seinfeld. I usually wear brown or black shoes and match the belt.

Black looks better unless they are acid washed jeans then you should just die.

But really, match the shoes, if the shoes aren't black or brown, wear a black belt.

I usually wear a white, black or brown belt. Those are the only belts I have right now... it all depends on what else you are wearing.

If your shoes are white, you can wear either. what kind/color of shirt are you wearing?

Interesting, I voted brown becuase I feel that black is too "dressy" for jeans in most cases. I have no idea why I think that.

To clarify, I would feel like I'm overdressing or something with black. If someone else wore it I wouldn't notice. I am weird about belts I guess?

This could just be a result of me not owning any black belts that aren't for slacks.

That's probably it, casual jeans with a dress belt is pretty dumb looking regardless of the color.
