Re: How do I extract value postflop?
I haven't seen the HH's... too lazy to go somewhere else... but I think I can get the idea-
two thoughts -big pots are built by betting/raising, too much slowplaying makes large bets look suspicious when you finally want to get a big pot going -making a big hand doesn't necessarily give you the right to a big pot, you also have to get lucky enough for your villians to have a big 2nd best hand |

Re: How do I extract value postflop?
I like to think that I did better here, but I don't know. I just played this hand a minute ago.

Re: How do I extract value postflop?
Goodness. BET! They can't call if you don't bet. On the first hand, you have top and bottom pair on a coordinated board, NOT one to slowplay on. Many turn cards can come and you'll wish you had protected your hand.
2nd hand, bet more. You might be able to check the flop, but when you're ready to bet, bet more. If they have any sort of hand, they'll call the bigger bets anyways. If they don't, well then you weren't getting much out of the hand to begin with. |

Re: How do I extract value postflop?
It looks a littl ebetter, your flop bet is a fine size, the pot on the turn is 70c so maybe make a bet more like 50-70c.
If you wanted to get fancy on the river, underbetting might be ok, bc it would make him think that you fear that flush, in microlimits however you don't have to be fancy, so once again try betting 60%-80% of the pot. it's only four handed, so you don't have to be too too worried about a better full house crushing you. |

Re: How do I extract value postflop?
For some reason I can't see the boards on those hands. But don't slowplay. You can't expect someone who is showing no strength at all to bet your hand for you.
With regard to the second hand, why are you making little $.20 and $.40 bets onto $5 pots? Bet your hand. |

Re: How do I extract value postflop?
Standard bet sizes
preflop 4xBB + .5BB per limper flop - 3/4 to full pot turn - 2/3 to 3/4 pot river - 1/2 to 2/3 pot At least start doing something like this. |
