Re: cardrunner HU hand by GP - wtf?
We'd been exceptionally weak in the session leading up to this hand (at the time I couldn't recall when the last showdown we had was). Taiwan had shown that he was pretty much always going to do exactly what we didn't want him to do. When we lead this river so weakly, he isn't expecting us to call a shove. GP is used to being treated as GP, but Taiwan was playing some random joker who was playing very straight forward. What I mean here is that Taiwan is expecting this weak river lead to represent a weak hand, he isn't expecting anything tricky.
I hated the river bet sizing. If he was planning on folding to the shove he should have bet more. The main reason I could see to betting so little was to have villain bluff shove. The only reason why this wasn't a snap call is that I couldn't come up with a hand that would decide to bluff on this river. However, by playing his hand so face up Taylor could have induced a 7 or PP to bluff shove. |

I think this is a fold because he expects us to call down very light given his aggressive image and he has been beating us down. In my experience this isn't a bluff often given the dynamics, but I don't play HU either. [/ QUOTE ] You can use this same philosophy to never take a stand vs someone because - hey - he MUST expect me to call him THIS time. |

I really hate a blocking bet vs a opponent like this unless your trapping him.

Taiwan gets out of line on the flop a lot but he has K9 crushed here.

Re: cardrunner HU hand by GP - wtf?
Taylor played really good HU matches in his previous video, but in this one he got pwned pretty hard imo.
Not once he played in few obvious Yeti spots and just let the guy ran over him. Don't know about that K7 hand, why lead so weakly if you intend to fold, but he played a lot of hands much worse / straightforward. i was really really dissapointed with this vid. Actually, from the hands that were posted here - Aejones is the best HU player i have seen so far. I'd seriously would love for him to make few vids for CR. |

Re: cardrunner HU hand by GP - wtf?
TaiwanStyle was playing so nitty preflop (he folded a lot of hands) and so aggro postflop (ckraise with QJ on a K9x board : that was the only hand we have seen showdown ).
I give credit to him for a hand in this spot. |

GP clearly fell into the nasty cycle during the match, where he waited way too long to take a stand and force his opponent to re-adjust |
