Re: Home Game Robbed, 1 Dead
[ QUOTE ]
Lots of dumb people out there who would do some dumb stuff like paint playing cards on the driveway. [/ QUOTE ] Couldn't they just put up a sign out front that said "Please rob us"? |

Re: Home Game Robbed, 1 Dead
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] "In Florida, you can have penny ante game up to $10 per hand and it's perfectly legal, so we're not sure how much they were gambling dollar-wise, but we're looking into that also," said Sgt. Michael Brouillette, New Smyrna Beach Police. [/ QUOTE ] Thought: If a poker game was robbed and a player was killed, it is a fair assumption that they were playing for more than $10 per hand..? [/ QUOTE ] dude it says 10 dollar ante which means everyone has to put that amount in the pot no matter what, so 10 x 10 = 100 and probably 20-40 or 25-50 blinds imo [/ QUOTE ] Up to $10 per hand maximum. Nowhere does it say $10 ante. Whether it's $10 per bet maximum or no pot can exceed $10 I'm not sure. Try not to read so much into a guy being quoted in the newspaper who is just using the term "penny ante game" as a way of saying "playing for pennies". When he says "penny-ante game all the way up to $10 per hand" it's kind of obvious he does not mean a high-ish stakes game nor should you make some weird attempt to take whatever some random Florida Sgt's phrasing is and then try to find loop-holes. |
