Strange files appear/dissapear after Malware warning

Hi, this is a bit of a grovel from me here lol. I had a malware warning after a pop up got through my pop-up blocker, Norton apparently recognised it and deleted it blah blah blah. But I downloaded a font to work on a photoshop with and when I went to save to fonts from

C > Windows > Fonts

there were about 50 folders with scrambles names like -

K$ft%ufnt@ etc. that I have not seen before and certainely never downloaded?

Has Norton worked or should I be worried and do something else? I don't even know what Malware is but it sounds like Spyware so can't be good right lol!
