Default Playing 6 max.....

It seems that more and more people are clamoring for 6-max events. I've never played 6-max before.. What sorts of things are different in a 6max game as opposed to full? What kind of M adjustments need to be made (if any)?

Honestly, I'm sort of afraid of 6-max because it seems like it would be nothing but aggression and marginal decisions every hand.

Way more loose and alot of Btn vs SB BB steals etc. I like 6max though as I feel I have a edge vs others.

Most players Can not/Will not/Do not adjust their ranges. Player reads and the ability to shift gears become more and more important.

Basically, you're not allowed to play ABC poker successfully.

You have an edge because it's 6max or you have an edge and 6max amplifies it somehow?

in any form of poker the fewer the players at the table the more skill is needed, as you will get blinded down just waiting for good hands.

I agree, player reads become much more important. You have to really to play the player, rather than position/stack size etc.

If you spot weak players at your table, you really need to go after them and bully them.

The edge in a 6max is better because we get to see way more hands than in a 9man where we can sometimes never get a hand. It's also much easier to play with a short stack pushing/folding than a 9 man table where it's a lot tougher to get a good shove in if you are short. It's easier to pwn the bubble in many cases because of this.
