Look at which conference gets the most at-large bids to the BCS. Look at which conference gets its 'bubble' teams in most consistently in bball. When Delany speaks, people listen.

I think those teams have more to do with success than power. It has just worked out that way recently. I don't recall Big 10 teams unjustly getting at-large bids as a conference. If you're talking power, talk about the bowl tie-ins which are set before the season by negotiations. The SEC has the best. The SEC also is about to negotiate it's new TV deal I believe. I don't really keep up with those things, but I'm pretty sure the SEC has the most power, at least in football, which is everything.

I think you forgot the Rose Bowl in your analysis
The Rose Bowl is so much larger than the other bowls that it negotiates its own tv contract outside of the other BCS bowls, which is why ABC had the Rose Bowl and Fox had the other ones.

Big11ten tie-ins >>> SEC tie-ins

Big11ten tv >>> SEC tv

SEC play >>> Big11ten play
but, that doesn't decide who has the power
