If medals are used for points, the points count against MGR when they are used at the rate of 0.5 cents per point. For example, 1,000 ponts x 0.5 cents = $5 x 27% = $1.35 off your rakeback.

What if medals are used for cash or for tournament tokens?

Medals exchanged for a bonus give you a bonus that works like any other bonus. As the bonus $ are earned the amount earned is subtracted from MGR. (Clear $20 of bonus, lose $20 of MGR, hence lose $5.40 of rake back.)

Medals exchanged for tournament tokens work like entering any tournament. The amount of any overlay is deducted from MGR. (Use $26 token to enter $4000 guaranteed tourney with 100 players, overlay is 4000-24*100 = 1600, overlay per entrant is $16, lose $16 of MGR, hence lose $4.32 of rake back.)
