Default Re: 10-20 Check Raised AI on the river

Hi Wally,

Well-played hand by you IMO. Good bet, now fold the river. This is just an opponent-dependent judgment, and my read of these guys (semi-common type) is that they just have no idea how much to bet with their hands, and they're afraid of checking for some reason, so that makes them appear sort of tricky. But, they're not, and they're not gutsy; they don't typically make these types of overbets as bluffs. In fact, they probably don't bluff at all, except for the tiny bets they use to try to get to every showdown.

The problem you run into vs. them is that they often have no conception of the relative strength of their hand, e.g. in this case, he might c/r any 2 pair, because "2 pairs are good," or because he improved on the river. So, if you had Jacks up here, you'd have to figure that out

So, going back to what I was saying about their thought process, this appears to be some sort of big hand, in Villain's estimation: what he considers a big hand is anyone's guess, but I doubt it's something worse than your hand.
