Lebda's hit on Langkow was a textbook hip check.

Maybe in the alternate "Hockeytown" (read: can't sellout a single playoff game, thousands and thousands of empty seats) universe.

[/ QUOTE ]

lololololol maybe because Michigan has the worst economy in the States??

[/ QUOTE ]

LOL one of the biggest cities in the country that calls itself "hockeytown" can't sellout seats that cost $70?

That is half the cost of tickets in Vancouver.

[/ QUOTE ]

What don't you understand? Bad economy = less money to spend on going to hockey games. Wings season tickets have to put the money down for all rounds of the playoffs before the start, thats a lot of $$.

Yeah, plus don't you know we're too busy going out killing people to go to hockey games.

P.S. Google NHL attendance. Take note of the road attendance figures also.

The average hardcore hockey fan knows far more about the game than a guy like Ray Ferraro.

It's hard to take you seriously when this is what you spouted gems like this earlier on in the thread:

WEST

1 Detroit vs 8 Calgary

One of the easiest series to pick imo. Calgary should take this one pretty handily. Detroit is too old, too European, and Datsyuk and Zetterberg are proven chokers. Calgary may have the best team in the nhl on paper and the playoffs is their time to shine.

How's this prediction working out for you so far?

Everybody here in Calgary is all for what went on at the end of the game. Then again... everyone here is just a fan of rough, tough rock 'em sock 'em type hockey... everyone's got the same mentality of evank15, with the whole "too European" attitude. Calgary's a joke.

I love how it's the "Fairy euro wings" that don't stick up for their teammates.

I've seen the Sharks avoid retaliation a million times this season, and guess what? We have lots of those Canadian boys you love. Sometimes it's bad when you don't stick up for your teammates, sometimes it's pointless. No matter what though, retaliation does NOT depend on where you were born.

I'll say this with the caveat that I enjoy fighting because it's entertaining to watch, and that's why I bother with sports in the first place.

That being said, explain to me the difference between football and hockey. Both are very physical games, but in football if you fight you get tossed very quickly and suspended, hence there aren't many fights (and not all that many blatant cheap shots with intent to hurt either). Hockey is totally different. I know it's ingrained in the culture by now, which is why people will just use their sticks instead of fighting if you make the rules too harsh, but other than that, is there something about the game that people just HAVE to fight when they fall behind? Like, is there any way at all to get these people not to act like 8-year olds throwing a temper tantrum because mommy wouldn't buy them an ice cream cone? That's my issue: how effing juvenile are all those people, and then everyone justifying it because, for some reason, you "have to" fight or attack people for no good reason because you're losing or the other team is talking trash. I mean, I enjoy watching fights, but good lord, quit acting like babies and show some tiny semblance of maturity and class.

If Vancouver doesn't close this series out tomorrow, I'm going to be very, very depressed.

Devils advance! Though with a lot more trouble than I thought.

So it's:
1 BUF vs. 6 NYR (Buffalo in 6)
2 NJ vs. 4 OTT (Ottawa in 6)
