Default Live 4/8 AJs OTB

Villain just sat down so no reads other than he's a mid 40's Armenian.

Hero has A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] on the Button. 4 players limp, Hero raises, SB fold and BB calls.

6 to the flop for 12sb
Flop is K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]
Checked to Hero who bets. BB calls, Villain in MP calls, everyone else folds.

3 to the turn for 7.5bb
Turn is K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], BB checks, Villain bets, Hero thinks for a minute and folds.

Standard?

You would think that attempting a c/r would be a better play if he actually had a king. Even though, this is 4/8 live and from my limited experience you made the correct fold because you are usually drawing dead vs. the typical player.

A raise for a free showdown might work here. 4/8 donks love to bet scare cards or flush draws. Not sure if its much better than folding.

Standard. In general I believe he's donking trips.

If he bets at other scare cards in the future, make a note of it. For now, fold.

I'm raising here, and that's the last money I'm putting in the pot

what is so interesting?

If he has a K, he is going to c/r. When he bets, I feel like I have the nuts, so I'm raising to charge him to draw, and charge draws behind me.

If he calls, he probably has a K, or a draw, so if a draw misses, no reason to bet the river.

8.5bb in the pot. the turn is a scare card that also brings to the texture on the board another flush draw which increases the range of possible semibluffing hands.

mainly though, since he's armenian i think it's a pretty good spot to raise for a FSD. if we get 3bet we are toasted oats. usually what we manage to do is get HU, having the best hand plenty often enough to showdown for 2bb UI.

TheHip has the right idea. He was bluffing with a heart draw and missed on the river. The other player had the other AJ and won the pot. Had I raised the other player almost certainly would have folded. I noted it for the future against this type of player, but it threw me for a loop at the time.
