[ QUOTE ] Snowbound: This map sucks ass. I hate it and its not just because I suck at it. I just dont like running into a room over and over again, as inevitably happens on this map. I pretty much veto this map every time. [/ QUOTE ] I LOVE LOVE LOVE this map because it's so easy to go on splatter sprees with the ghost, which is basically the most satisfying thing you can do in a game of Halo. [/ QUOTE ] Seems like most of the games on this map when I play turn into underground campfests. |

Re: Halo 3 Chatter and XBL Gamertag Thread
A decent team who's worked at it can clear out the room below where people seem to like camping - there's far too many entrances/shielded doorways. You may get one or two people rushing in solo for some easy kills, but against a team who knows what they're doing you're just asking for massive amounts of grenades thrown into the area.

Re: Halo 3 Chatter and XBL Gamertag Thread
yep. It's actually pretty easy to control the map if they try to camp underground. It demands the entire team work together, though.

"pretty easy" and "entire team work together" don't go together that easily though.
Anyway, what is the best strategy then. |

"pretty easy" and "entire team work together" don't go together that easily though. Anyway, what is the best strategy then. [/ QUOTE ] Lol. If you're playing with friends or people who communicate, it's loads easier. Firstly, it depends on if you have the lead or not. If so, just camp near the brute shot with two people, and one guy at the middle tunnel opening and another at the north most opening (not the one you access from the laser gun room) and spam grenade the cave. If you need to clear it, spam grenade all at the same time and immediately rush simultaneously. The hardest part is to time it so that you don't get blasted in the face with a shotty near the force field openings. Usually I have the two at the brute fake a rush, back out, and then rush back in after the two others go. This tends to conglomerate the guys towards the shotty end, allowing the other two a lead in, and a decent distraction for the first two to rush back in without getting hit with a shotgun to the face. It mostly depends on where the guy with the shotgun is, as he's usually waiting right in front of the force field. So you should emphasize the other openings, and use his end after the initial siege. Sometimes I'll have a guy in a ghost shooting down one of the holes up until we rush. Also, a Needler is great to use when running from one of the base entryways since those two are long and narrow (same goes for brute shot). If each of you are loaded on grenades, throwing them all and rushing works almost every time. If you need to clear the room, spam grenade the area from three |
