Default interesting river spot vs roothlus in stars 50r

2nd hour. roothlus had been playin a lot of pots so far. i don't really put him on a 9 since he checked behind the turn but I can't imagine he would call a shove on the river with a q so i see no point in raising in case of the small chance he has a 9. thoughts?

You cant fold, obviously

I think you have to raise here.. If you are sure hes not calling a shove with a Q, make it like 9000 or something silly like that.

I'd probably shove though...

reraising is giving money away

When is this ever a smart move? Why make a bet you "know" wont get called with a Q when it will most definitly get called with a 9, and your stack is gone.

That play makes no sense, plus im sure roothlus is smart enough to know that a smallish raise on the river with a 9 is a better play than a large raise. after all its more important to extract a few chips than make the all in and get no call.

Bet the flop, I really don't see him checking here if he has 89s or A9s that he cced with PF.

i should have mentione this in the OP, but earlier in the 2n hr i raised from ep and roothlus called and one other dude and i checked flop and ended up check/folding river to him. based on that i thought checking would be the best play. but maybe your right.

shove...he could easily have AA/KK/case Q, and its less likely he'd check a 9 on the turn

your goal is to stack someone and it's going to be very hard to do that unless you bet the flop

Why is that? You don't think he'd call with hands that Hero beats?
