Re: Question 23
I may have mis-clicked this vote. Definitely fold. You have the 7th-nut flush, on a paired board, with lots of action after you. You might can beat one of the guys -- if they are betting a straight like this. But one of them definitely has either a higher flush, or a full house -- probably one of each.

Re: Question 23
I could fold this flush with no trouble, given the behavior on the turn and river. The min raise to fatten the pot and keep ops in could be done with him holding an ace of clubs and drawing to a nut flush, but there are a lot of other possibilities that have you beat either on the turn or with the river 10.

Re: Donkey Test
I scored a 90 and was thrilled as all I usually play is low stakes limit HE. I have played a few 1/2 NLHE games at my local casino and trippled my money the last time I played. I don't profess to be a no limit player, but am always reading, learning and evaluating my play--I consider most of those questions High Stake scenarios for me. Thanks for sharing the web site.

Re: Donkey Test
Thanks to everyone so far. Can't wait for more question break downs. I took the test and scored a 91. Time might have played a factor. Took this at work - I would like to see how I did with out the time added... Over all I can't complain. I've done "ok" with rake games but over all make any money lost with home games and on line small stake SGs...
My one complaint is that the $10 fee does not give you a break down of the "answers" - just a break down of different skill areas and how you scored each. Once again - thanks to all. |

Re: Donkey Test
I just tried to add the next question, but I couldn't figure out how to add the survey, since this isn't a new thread.

Q24
Late in a large tournament. Blinds 1000-2000. You have 118,000 chips and are one of the chip leaders. It is folded around to the cutoff who goes all in for his last 10,000 chips. He is a good tournament player. SB folds.
You are in the BB and hold: T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]5[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] |

Re: Q24
I'm going to rely on the Harrington 10-1 rule, which says that anytime you have 10x the small stack and can put her in, then you should do it.

Re: Q24
I answered "fold" on this one, but thought I might be wrong, so I looked it up. I don't understand the math behind this, but if you read the end of NLHTAP you will find a chart that answers this question. The pertinent information is that you are having to call $8k to a heads-up all-in with a pot of $13k. You are getting just a tad over 3:2 pot odds, so it is wrong to call if the all-in player is pushing with much better than any 2 cards.
Specifically, DS says it is wrong to call with T5o getting 3:2 on your money if your opponent is pushing with: AA-22, AK-A2, Any two cards 7 or higher (e.g. T7), K6-K4, and K3s-K2s If he is pushing with a lot more than that (any two cards), then you can call. I don't think the CO would be pushing with much less than that, since they have just passed the blinds and can afford to wait a few hands for a better hand to push with. ======================== EDIT: corrected the opponent's card holdings |

Re: Q24
Yeah, Kip, but with CO having an M of 3, isn't he pushing with any two cards?
