$24 - 28K gtd. AJo in tough spot.
This is not a hand of mine, but a friends we were discussing.
blinds just jumped to 1500/3000 w antes 400. there are 27 players left and the average stack is almost 60k next jump in prize$ is at 18. he's with 21k chips giving an M of around 2.5. Dealt AJo on the button. MP player with 55k in front of him raises to 10k. read on opp is one of the looser players on the table, raising 1 to 3 hands per orbit for the last hour or so. However he feels as though opp has a better hand this time, considering those other raises came at opportune times (blind stealing, etc.) He put his range around 66+ KQ+ AT+ A8s+. I argued he can't really wait for a better spot, given the circumstances. Also, his equity against that range should be good enough for the chips he stands to gain. What are the thoughts on this? |

Re: $24 - 28K gtd. AJo in tough spot.
Assuming the range is precise, I think we're getting about 44% equity (1.2:1), while getting around 2.5:1 for our money. I think its a shove. Although, admittedly the biggest buy-in I've played for an MTT was $22 so I'm not as sure in terms of experience. |

Against a loose player this is an easy shove. Even against a tighter one your M might force you to act (depending on the table dynamics).
With your range given this is a very easy shove. |

You min fist pump here that everything worked out for you and then make the play; you have an M of 2.5 which is like the only problem I see in this hand.
