Default Some coaching questions

Dont know which forum to put this, mods move if you need to. Ive never really thought about coaching anyone until lately. Ive gotten a couple requests but never gave them much of a thought. What would be a standard hourly rate? Whats the best way to communicate with my student?(ie skype, or just aim) Say your student plays and wins $1000 during a session while you're coaching. Is any of that split between coach/student? If im coaching a student, do I ever just play and comment to him on how im playing/why, or is my student always doing the playing? Im very new to this coaching, any help would be appreciated. For the record Ive been a pretty good winner at 10-25 and 25-50 for a while now and worked my way up from .05-.10c.

they pay you an hourly, ive never heard of anybody getting a % of profits. that seems like a bad idea. its upto you to figure out the best way to coach them, whether it be via you sweating them and making decisions or just talking about concepts or whatever.

i think youd be a pretty good coach fwiw.

Them sweating you I don't think is a good idea, unless you really trusted them. They could be telling someone at your tables your hands.

The only person I remember playing and shipping profit was duck.

I usually sweat their tables for part of a session over IRC/MSN/AIM/Skype then do a post session PT analysis (Plus any specific hands the student has interest in obv)

As far as rate, I never taught anybody above like 400nl, so I dunno.
