Default $5 - AKs UTG - Bubble

Poker Stars, $5 + $0.50 NL Hold'em Tournament, 200/400 Blinds, 9 Players
LeggoPoker Hand History Converter

SB: 8,132
BB: 8,805
Hero (UTG): 9,441
UTG+1: 9,448
UTG+2: 5,905
MP1: 14,439
MP2: 17,627
CO: 11,437
BTN: 5,575

Pre-Flop: (825) K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] dealt to Hero (UTG)
Hero raises to 1,200, UTG+1 raises to 4,400, 7 folds, Hero raises to 9,416 and is All-In

30ish left to money.
Villain is 25/10, I'm 15/10.

I know this is standard.. just wondering if I should've picked a better spot.
I don't see him raising less than AK/TT+
What does an overbet like this usually indicate besides him isolating me?

How much better a spot do you want? I might have raised a bit more UTG but mostly I play this the same.

Yah I raise 1500-1600 utg here... I don't think it would have really mattered here...

As played I think you have to call...

This is not the bubble.

I'm sorry you lost your coinflip but here's no other way to play this.

4xBB PF, push over his raise is the most std. line I can think of in this spot

I know it's not technically the bubble,
but I see most players tightening up at this stage..
but that doesn't really factor in too much here I guess.

This post isn't intended to illict pity,
I'm far beyond caring if I lose a flip.

I'm just wondering if I made the right play,
even if he shows me QQ preflop.

Are you just looking for affirmation of your play here or would you seriously listen if someone told you to fold to his 3-bet?

What if I said open fold preflop - you're OOP, have a drawing hand, can find a better spot, etc., etc.?

FYP... at later levels, reducing the size of your pf raises to 2.5x is standard and smart... PLUS, if you do vary your raise sizes by position, you'd typically want to make your EP raises smaller... PLUS, raising smaller here may be more likely to induce a reraise here, which I'm more than happy to push over.
