Default 3-bet sizing

I post this in SSNL instead of MSNL because I think its more appropirate here.

In general, when you 3-bet preflop, how much do you 3-bet?

What factors do you take into account and how does that affect the size?

Ex of factors: Your hand, How deep the stacks are, Type of opponent, Your image, History.

In general, I 3-bet to like 3*the original total raise and add some most of the time. I tend to add more if OOP than in position. If there is cold callers inbetween I add about the sum of the cold call as well.

Can you give examples of when you tend to 3-bet more or less than usual?

at 1/2, if someone opens 6 i go 21-24
at 1/2, if someone opens 8 i go 26-32

at 50/1, if someone opens 3 i go 11-14
at 50/1, if someone opens 4 i go 14-16

if someone is short (<10x their open, i just push)

just personal preference for the most part.. ideally you want villain to pay atleast 10% of their stack to see flops

yeah i do 1+3. i'll usually add 1BB to my std 3bet when OOP eg
IP: 4-->12
OOP: 4-->14
this just happens to fit into my game plan well as i 3bet a lot from the blinds

if you have a huge hand though, wouldn't you want to entice villain to call by 3betting less? this just seems strange to me (obv. some agro villains may be more prone to call or shove over a larger 3bet, but i think a smaller 3bet would be more likely to get a call). plz explain

when i say donkey i mean really bad player who will felt QT on AT2 board for eg, finds it hard to fold hands pf etc. If they're willing to call big raises with marginal hands might aswell add a few more big blinds to your raise to maximise your pf value in case they whiff the flop.

oh, ok, yeah i do this too but again only when OOP because the positional advantage is so much bigger postF one can easily extract, whereas OOP it's much harder (making it easier to get value preflop rather than postF).

raising more OOP also reduces villain's considerably greater implied odds with drawing hands like Axs

I raise 3x the bet IP, 4 times the bet OOP. We want to keep the pot a bit smaller IP to take fully advantage of our position, while its the other way around OOP.

Add the amount of a coldcaller to the raise. Seems normal/ standard.

Less when someone is shallow because we don't have to worry was much about giving odds.

The more I 3-bet in a certain game, the smaller my 3-bets will be in general. We can expect to get played back at more when laggy PF.

when i think my hand is better and a loose player raised in front of me

deep stacked: I re raise low sc's in position when a loose deep stack raises from MP or CO , this works well

i make ~ pot sized 3 bets against regs who know what they are doing.

Against unknowns and those who seem capable of calling 3 bets light, I charge a retard tax and make my 3 bets a bit bigger.

also, i make larger 3 bets when i am oop or there are deep stacks involvled.
