Not a bad choice, but I would have to go with Oaked Bastard over Ruination

all we havd is DQ around here

That's the saddest statement I've seen in a long time.

Yes. I openly mock people who like DQ, which is a LOT of people in MN. (I know you didn't say you like it Steel.)

I also openly mock them all for always referring to it as The Dairy Queen instead of just Dairy Queen. I don't hear anyone calling it The Burger King.

i think cold stone/marble slab/maggie moo's are pretty underwhelming. i mean, it's good and all, but not exciting like frozen custard or baskin-robbins.

You can't make a good dessert by throwing all kinds of bells and whistles into a decidedly meh ice cream base.

I was a little surprised to learn DQ owns PA the way they do TX. Texans here can tell you that no town there is too one-horse for a Dairy Queen. They all have one.

I have never heard of Cold Stone
Is it worth the drive?

I would say no, but if other business takes you near one, stop in. Come to the West Coast, there's one every block.

"What flavor do you get, and what treat do you have them cut into it?"

I've never been to this marble slab place. I do think that Cold Stone's ice cream is much better than the ice cream at Maggie Moo's. I have a Maggie Moo's a 5 minute walk from my apartment, but I've never seen another one in the state.
