Default San Diego Poker????

I am traveling to San Diego the first part of next week and will be staying for a few months. I have a couple of questions that I’m sure the 2+2 B&M crowd can help with.

1.) Where are the closest card rooms?
2.) What are the games like in the S.D. area?
3.) If there are any local card rooms, what limits do they usually spread, what games are played and finally what do they generally rake?

Granted some of these questions are pretty broad but I’m looking for a basic over view of what is available. Any help would be mush appreciated.

There are about 4-7 places.

My reccomendation would be Barona or Sycaun. They have 1-3 NL and 2-5 NL mainly, but bigger games go sometimes.

Play is pretty bad as with most casinos. Play goot win monies then go to Pacific Beach. Holla!

North County-wise, take a look at Pechanga and Ocean's 11. The latter is just off the 5 in Oceanside.

There are several places to play all around the county. What area are you staying? What games/levels do you play?

I agree with the N.County recommendations of Oceans 11 and Pechanga since they are large rooms with good staff, but there are other smaller places (Harrah's, Valley View & Pala)

If you are in the downtown area I would recommend Sycuan & Viejas for the large rooms, but again there are other smaller places (Barona, Palomar Club etc.)

Games are typically pretty soft at all rooms. The larger rooms always seem to have a better variety of games/limits and multiple tables of each.

I was playing the 8-16 kill and 20-40 LHE games at Oceans 11 last month, the room is pretty good and the games were soft as can be....absolutely loved it!

Since that thread was made Oceans 11 has also recently added a $10/$10 NL game with a 2k cap.

I really want to thank everyone for the information. I didn’t even Google San Diego poker because I was afraid there was none and then to hear that there are a bunch of options is great.

Barona is Hold 'em only and spreads 3-6 L, 4-8 L, 1-2 NL, 1-3 NL. 2-5 NL and 6-12 L is usually played on weekends only.

JP is aces full of 10s beaten by 4oK or better with mini JP of 1k for aces full of 2-9s beaten by 4oK or better.

Was at Barona this week with wife-- both of these games went off on weeknights.

Just took a little pressure from a couple regulars asking the floor to call the 20+ player interest list.
