Amp, I've thought the same thing with my gf. Except we decided that owning a doggie day-care was the way to go.

I think if I retired early, I'd try and write a decent novel, or maybe actually really bone up on music and try and do some composing. EDIT: The latter seems less likely to actually net monetary gain.

Video store clerk, librarian, politician, teacher. I would do any of those things to fill in the hours between sleeping/traveling/learning/enjoying retirement.

Travel writing would be pretty great, or reviewing movies/restaurants. Owning a bar or restaurant would be a lot of fun if you didn't have to worry about it making money.

Is this true? My wife knows a lady here who is making a freaking fortune with 5 doggy day cares.
