Can someone explain why that table chat induced a raise?

I put lc in the title for a reason. I didn't think it was necessary to add any context about previous hands because I'm not looking for an analysis. I had been very aggressive the whole tourney, and he had pointed out more than twice that I was a "bully". I had just won a big hand the hand prior to knock the 3rd place finisher out. That's why I threw an over raise in preflop. I thought he would call based on what I had seen the whole hour. I saw the ace, he was acting too strong and waaaaaaaaaaalah. End game. No big deal, thought it was funny.
